Helensville’s Take Note is re-branding to bring it up to date with the latest developments in stationery retail. After the refurbishment is complete in early August the business will emerge as Paper Plus Select.
The refurbishment, which will be done in stages, will result in the shop having a new look with a complete paint job, updated fittings and new flooring. The layout will be more user-friendly with the contents better rationalised.
Innovations are to include different ranges of stationery and a doubling of the book stock. Eventually customers will be able to order goods online and have them delivered free if they spend over $50. The introduction of Fly Buys is also expected to be a very popular move and there will also be a weekly sale to draw in customers.
For Manu and Laxmi Patel, who have owned the business for 14 years, the benefits of being part of an up-to-date franchise include support in terms of computer software and Fly Buys administration, expert advice on the best items to stock and the ability to negotiate good terms with suppliers that can be passed on to the customers in the form of competitive prices.
Importantly, there are some things that won’t change. The Post Shop/Kiwi Bank will remain in its current spot, as will the Lotto outlet. The staff will also remain the same, with Manu and Laxmi, Manager April and assistants Fifi, Ruth, Louisa and Vicki there to provide great customer service.
As April explains ”The closest Paper Plus outlets are in Orewa and St Heliers, so we’ll be servicing the large western corridor. People are already very positive about our service and we’re confident that the re-branding will bring in even more customers.“
