After having to close down for repairs after the playcentre building was flooded we have now re-opened. We are still unpacking and receiving delivery of last-minute items, but at least we are in, and it’s so good to be back.
On our very first day (Monday 2nd May), David Hutcheson from North Harbour Rotary donated a water feature he had designed and made – a fantastic welcome back. The water feature has magnetic pieces which the children can move around to explore and create exciting water patterns, learning about cause and effect, gravity, and the properties of water. Thank-you so much to David and his son Michael for installing it. The children love it and it will be sure to bring us many, many sessions of fun water play.
Thank-you to everyone who donated through our Givealittle page! – we raised $595.00! We were also donated a computer, a laptop, a fridge, a freezer, and a cake mixer. Thank-you also to Anita at Helensville Copy and Print for publishing our story and helping to spread the word.
We will be arranging a thank-you event for all our donors in the next couple of weeks – date to be decided – keep an eye out on our Facebook page. You’ll be able to see our fantastic new kitchen and also see the amazing difference your donations have made to our centre.
But of course you are also welcome to pop in and see us in action on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9.15am and 11.45am. We’d love to be able to say a BIG thank-you in person. For now, on behalf of everyone at Kaukapakapa Playcentre, THANK YOU!
