The world seems to be getting more complicated with everyone rushing here and there! Many parents don’t get to spend regular quality time with their children – talking with them, reading to them or doing simple things together like baking or gardening. By doing these things together parents and children build great relationships. Studies show that these relationships are essential to children’s early development.
The greatest value for parents and children doing the HIPPY programme is the regular quality time spent together doing simple activities, which are fun and educational. Children’s brains are like sponges soaking up every new experience at an early age – so starting HIPPY at 3 ½ is an ideal way to teach children everything they need to know before starting school and to build that essential parent/child relationship.
Skills include fine motor control, spatial development, logical thinking, problem solving, social skills, maths and reading readiness. These things don’t happen by themselves and children who have done the HIPPY programme are confident and ready for learning when they go to school. Parents know exactly what their child can and cannot do and feel confident to continue being involved in their child’s education.
