On Friday evening 2nd December HIPPY South Kaipara families attended their annual HIPPY (Home Interaction Programme for Parents and Youngsters) graduation.
The children who had completed the full two year / sixty week programme wore their graduation robes and received framed certificates as well as other gifts. All the other children and their parents participating in the programme also received certificates and gifts.
The HIPPY programme was established in the South Kaipara in 2005 and since then over 650 local families have participated. HIPPY kids start school confidently with all the skills they need to do well and enjoy this important stage of their lives. Parents who work with their children regularly on the fun HIPPY activities understand their child’s abilities and build a stronger relationship with them. Kids love spending quality time with their parents – something which has become more challenging these days!
