The HIPPY programme was established in South Kaipara in 2005 and is a Charitable Trust. HIPPY’s aim is to promote education and parental support by strengthening and supporting families. For many, the HIPPY programme has been life changing.
HIPPY graduates attending local schools will be enjoying their learning experiences thanks to the work put in by their HIPPY parents. HIPPY (Home Interaction Programme for Parents and Youngsters) provides parents with the materials, resources and support to be their child’s first teacher. Parents work with their HIPPY child each day on a variety of fun, interactive learning activities, which develop the skills children need to start school confidently.
If you would like to enrol your pre-school child or to know more about this wonderful resource in our community, phone coordinator Bernie Malizia on 09 420 7434 or 021 0220 6017.
