Jools Topp is to headline Helensville Christmas Festival, Saturday 5th December. Jools, with American singer friend Teresa Trull, will both entertain and participate as MC and judge.
The parade begins midday at the north end of Helensville, proceeding through Commercial Rd and Mill Rd to the Helensville Pioneer Museum, as last year. Mitre 10 will again tow Santa’s sleigh. Prizes have been donated by Swale Earthmovers, UHY Haines Norton, Helensville Paper Plus and Helensville District Health Trust.
The morning will include entertainment in Creek Lane, a bouncy castle and face painting. Photos with Santa, courtesy of Unichem Pharmacy, will be taken in Santa’s Grotto at RSA from 9.30am. The decorated bike and trike competition will be in the library courtyard, managed by Rural Women and with prizes sponsored by Gumboots Early Childcare Education. Colouring competition entries, organized by Lions, will be on display in shop windows, with prizes sponsored by Allsorts. The Christmas Tree Decorating Competition will be happening again at the Museum, with trees, donated by Noel Higham (Noel’s Christmas Trees), to be given to deserving families afterwards. Home made decorations only, to be judged by the public. Prizes have been donated by Oikoumene Forest Ltd.
An afternoon of markets in the Museum grounds will include more entertainment, including belly dancers, another bouncy castle, face painting and balloon twisting. There will be photos with Santa in a classic car and a Harcourts lolly scramble at 2pm.
Buskers, entertainers and volunteer helpers are very welcome. For all entry forms etc email helchrisfest@gmail.com, or phone 021 488 427. Entry forms are also available at Helensville Copy & Print.
