Are you interested in discussing the possibility of having a cinema in Helensville? There are a number of people who are, and we all have different ideas about what sort of cinema e.g.streaming current new releases, a boutique cinema, “theme nights”, drive in movies, and so on…. Several models established in small communities are worth looking at – Kaiwaka community cinema, Waiheke, Alexandra, Dargaville ANZAC cinema, and so on. It may be useful to consider some of those before you come to the meeting. Of particular value to the discussion would be anyone who has a bit of technical experience, just because I don’t have any of that. I do have energy to convene the meeting and to find out who is keen to push the idea forward.
A meeting will be held at the Helensville Arts Centre (Basement of War Memorial Hall, 49 Commercial Road) at 6.30pm, Thursday April 29. Gold coin entry (to defray Arts Centre costs).
