“Art on Track Gallery at the Helensville Railway Station have their first exhibition of 2016 starting on 6th January and running until 24th and are very pleased to welcome Jo Bain, mixed media artist and tutor who has a long association with Helensville, Art Kaipara and the Art Centre where she has exhibited and held many mixed media workshops.
Jo now lives in Stanmore Bay and travels often to Fiji where their family business is based.
Jo’s paintings tell stories; they are bold, colourful, and expressionistic, guaranteed to open your eyes to the abundant beauty of nature evident in her use of natural fibres, leaves and tapa and importantly are priced to ensure that everyone can enjoy them.  Her work has won many awards and is held in International and New Zealand collections.
The Gallery are thrilled that Jo is painting some pieces especially for us, some on canvas, driftwood and kete featuring favourite beaches, tranquil scenes with a strong message of conservation and sustainability, often painting on recycled or “found” materials painting the beauty of our unique New Zealand landscape.
Resident’s artists work is there too along with Arataki Ceramics and hand- made jewellery by Halina Mcgechan
The Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. and we look forward to seeing you there.
