All artists working in Mâori art forms are invited to exhibit in this open exhibition at the Art Centre, Helensville. The exhibition will feature Muriwai artist Hemi Kiwikiwi who spent time amongst Aboriginal people learning their artistry and also worked as a prop maker on the set of the ‘Yogi Bear’ movie. “His work is contemporary, colourful and exciting,” says Art Centre Coordinator Pauline Denton, “and we are looking forward to showcasing his latest works”
In the spirit of being a true community art space the Centres welcomes all who wish to exhibit work in Mâori art forms. It costs just $3 to put a piece of work into the exhibition, which will run from July 2 – 30.
Works are to arrive between 10am and 4.30pm Tuesday 28 or Wednesday 29 June or by arrangement with Pauline 021 158
