Also on 17 April in the historic Kaukapakapa Library from 10am to 1pm Author Vicky Adin will be talking about her writing and her genealogy. Vicky writes stories about people, their pasts and their passions. After decades of genealogical research and a life-long love affair with words she has combined her skills to write poignant novels that weave family and history together. Her books will be available for you to have a look at, including her latest release under the Past Finders logo “The Girl from County Clare”

The Kaukapakapa library will also be open on Anzac Day Monday 25th April from 10am to 12pm after the Anzac service. On display will be a photographic collection of 40 of the 86 servicemen who are commemorated on the Kaukapakapa WWII monument, courtesy of the Helensville Museum and compiled by Isla Willis.
There will also be information on the Auckland Museum’s Online Cenotaph, a record of personal and official memories of those who served for New Zealand. You can share your knowledge about a person’s life by adding a contribution to the Online Cenotaph records page. (See story on front page)
