Kids Kitchen a hit with the kids
It was neat to see the turnout of eager kids at the first Kids Kitchen session held at Te Whare Oranga ô Parakai. Some were up to 10 years old, others were as young as three, with oversized aprons for all. Keryn started the session introducing herself and went over how the session would run. She explained where sushi wa
s from and the types that people make, going through each of the items that would be used in the sushi making process and the kids got to try things they had
n’t eaten before.
After the kids washed their hands the sushi making began. The process seemed very easy. The outcome was delish but although my eight-year-old had fun he wasn’t into eating any of it, he left that to his four year old sister, who loved it. Both are looking forward to making pizza at the next Kids Kitchen.
