It’s all hands on deck as another new and exciting array of sculptures is installed for the eighth exhibition to be held at Kaipara Coast. The theme of the exhibition is for artists to look at this unique part of the country and comment on issues that affect those living here. Several artists will be working on site creating their artworks from found objects on site, repurposing and recycling objects that have been discarded and abandoned.
“It is amazing to see the diversity of the artists’ response to the brief and to the site, the ingenuity of the artists always amazes me,” says curator Sally Lush. “This year we are very pleased to have many local artists, including Ann Crane and Denise Marshall from Helensville, as well as artists from all over New Zealand including Jan Gosling from Waipawa , Central Hawkes Bay, Matt Williams from Christchurch and Bruce Young from Whangarei. International artist, Sonja van Kerkhoff, resident in the Netherlands, is exhibiting her work The gossamer prison. You will need to come and visit to find out more.”
