President of Art Kaipara, Sally Lush and Art Centre Coordinator Pauline Denton finally got to see the new basement space, which will house the new Art Centre Helensville. Sally has set up and sold two successful Art Galleries in Auckland and Pauline says that it is a real thrill to have her expertise on the team for this project. The move into the new refurbished space beneath the War Memorial Hall will be in mid-September and will open with an exhibition of new works on 12 inch square canvases from those who have supported the Art Centre over the years. To be part of the exhibition contact Pauline at coordinator@artcentrehelensville.org.nz or on 021 158 6859. Up to 9 works may be submitted by each exhibitor but the final display will be in the hands of the exhibitions curator says Pauline. 3 dimensional works have no size limit as long as they can fit through the door!
The Art Centre space also houses a media/dry art room and a spacious wet art room.
Please check out our new exhibition schedule and education programme on Facebook.
The Art Centre wishes to acknowledge the vision of the Rodney Local Board in providing this new and exciting space for all the community to become involved in exploring their own creativity in a warm, dry, light and spacious new gallery.
